We are currently looking to hire a Journeyman Technician at Summit GM in Fort McMurray, AB.

Job Description:

The Journeyman Technician is responsible for testing, diagnosing, and repairing automotive systems that require being fixed.  The areas of specialization include front-end components, 4WD, electrical and electronic systems, diagnostics, alignments, steering, suspension, brake systems, hydraulic systems, fuel and emission systems, ignition system, A/C, cooling and heating systems, drive train components and more.  The role must thrive in a fast-paced environment and will review work orders with their supervisors, complete reports to record problems and work performed, and work with advisors and customers to be able to explain the necessary work.

General Responsibilities:

  • Diagnosing vehicle problems
  • Adjust, repair, or replace parts of components of automotive systems
  • Perform scheduled maintenance service
  • Test and adjust repaired systems to GM specifications
  • Quality control; inspect motor in operation, road test motor vehicles
  • Communicate effectively with Service Advisors and customers on work performed and future repair requirements
  • Administration may be necessary

Requirements:

  • Red Seal certified/Automotive Service Technician Certified
  • 3 to 5 years experience
  • Able to work with other technicians and service consultants
  • Positive attitude and a desire to repair vehicles correctly
  • Time management skills
  • Valid Driver’s License

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary: $40-$59/hr, 40 hours per week
